The articles reference approximately 65,000 persons from Virginia,
most of which trace lines seven or eight generations. Information
in theintroduction tells you how to reference items found on the
CD-ROM, how to search for your ancestors most effectively, how
to use the Lists of Sources, how to copy and print images, and
more.
The CD-ROM consists of an introduction and five sections, each
section containing several chapters. You can easily search for
ancestors using the Search Expert. Once you have found an occurrence
of the name, you are given the options of going to the next matching
name (assuming there is one), the previous occurrence, the first,
or last occurrence of the name. When you have located a section
you want to see, you can use the built-in tools to zoom in and
out on a page, copy the image to a clipboard, view the page without
the Family Tree Maker buttons on the top, print the page, and
move to the next and previous pages. You can view the indexes
for each book, check the Tables of Contents, and literally go
page by page if you like.

I can't say enough about these image CD-ROMs I think they
are fantastic, and then some! The standard five volume set of
The Virginia Genealogies would be way out of many researchers'
price range, but this title makes it affordable to all genealogists.
What a great resource to have access to! I hope that the partnership
with the Genealogical Publishing Company continues and more CD-ROMs
of this quality and usefulness are to come!
